Is AI as impressive as the internet makes it seem?
and some changes to the newsletter format.
Hey friends!
I hope you’ve had a good start of 2026! And all the goals and useful habits you set for yourself will stay with you in the coming months of this year.
I am trying to make this newsletter a bit more interesting. Instead of just reposting the posts from the blog, I want to add some personal reflections, additional materials, and recommendations.
Since I no longer use social media, I want to make this place a sort of gathering of things I make. An “all things Dima” kind of place.
At the beginning of the year, I was reflecting on AI and how it affects our lives. This is where the idea of this post came from.

In other news, I am currently in Barcelona, enjoying the weather and this beautiful town.
Before, I was in Madrid for a few weeks and filmed a bit of an experimental YouTube video about the city. I am still editing it, but it should be ready this Sunday. If you don’t want to miss it subscribe to the channel.
I also published my Monday Coffee video (episode #17) where I talk about journaling and reflection (or reflect on reflection if you will!).
Week’s recommendations
Movies:
Train Dreams: an incredible film, check my review on Letterboxd.
Rental family: a great, light watch.
One Battle After Another: stunning cinematography, though I wasn’t a huge fun of the story. Too “American” for my taste.
Books:
I recently finished The Inner Compass by Lawrence Yeo and I cannot recommend it enough. This short book will give you all the tools you need on the path to self-understanding (and a good life as a result).
Have a great week!
